The red clay plate decorated with slip and glaze has the attractiveness of its simplicity, warmth, and its powerful appearance. One ware became known nationwide when Sōetsu Yanagi (father of Siri Yanagi) and Bernard Leach, who visited the area, praised this pottery that embodies the "beauty of use".

A Mame Zara dish with a pattern unique to Onta ware. "Flying scraping" applies a tool to scrape the surface according to the rotation of the potter's wheel and "Comb eye" draws a clear pattern using a comb-shaped tool, respectively. All are made by skilled artisans.
