Tsutsu Yunomi crafted with Mino Ware
This “Tsutsu Yunomi” is a collaboration with Mino Ware’s Seitouen kiln, featuring a unique two-tone design created by applying two different glazes. The teacup allows you to enjoy the texture of the clay and glaze, the feel of the material, and the warmth of brewed tea through your senses. With a capacity of approximately 120ml, its narrow opening design enhances the tea’s aroma, providing a direct and immersive experience.

A unique design with two-tone glaze
The Mino Ware teacup is first shaped using molds and then carefully carved by hand. Its distinctive design is achieved through the technique of applying two separate glazes. Not only does it offer a visually striking appearance, but it also provides an interesting tactile experience as you feel the contrast in textures when held.

Mino Ware: Japan’s largest producer of tableware
Mino Ware refers to pottery and porcelain produced in the eastern region of the former Mino Province (modern-day Gifu Prefecture). Throughout history, Mino Ware has evolved with the times by developing new glazes and techniques to suit changing tastes. As a result, it offers a wide variety of styles and methods. Today, Gifu Prefecture accounts for approximately 60% of Japan’s ceramic production, making it the largest producer in the country and an essential part of Japanese dining culture.

Since it is made by hand, there are individual differences in color and shape.

Care Instructions
Aging and crackle patterns: Over time, “craze patterns” (fine cracks) may appear. If you use darker beverages, these may become more pronounced. This is a natural characteristic of ceramic ware and does not affect its functionality. Please enjoy it as part of the unique charm of the material.
Microwave Compatibility: Yes

Before First Use
To prevent staining of the fine cracks or crevices, perform the following sealing process:
1. Place the cup in a pot filled with rice water (the water left after rinsing rice).
2. Heat on medium until just before boiling, then reduce to low heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
3. Turn off the heat and allow the cup to cool to room temperature in the rice water.
4. Wash thoroughly and dry completely.

Usage Guidelines
Avoid sudden temperature changes to prevent damage (e.g., rapid heating or cooling).
Before use, immerse the cup in water to saturate it fully, reducing the risk of stains or odors adhering to the surface.

After Use
While dishwasher use is allowed, handwashing is recommended to prolong the product’s lifespan.
Avoid overloading in the dishwasher to prevent damage.
Use a soft sponge for cleaning, as abrasive detergents or metal scrubbers may scratch the surface.
Do not soak the cup for extended periods. After washing, dry thoroughly with a soft cloth and store in a well-ventilated area.
Since pottery is absorbent, even when it appears dry, residual moisture inside can lead to mold, stains, or odors. Ensure complete drying before storage.

Other Notes
Avoid strong impacts that may cause chipping or breakage.
Discontinue use if cracks or damage appear for safety reasons.
Each piece is handcrafted, so variations in color and shape are part of its unique charm.
