Hasami ware Japanese Tea Pot / COFFEE POT

The Kogashi Gosu series showcases the rich, traditional aesthetic of Japanese pottery. Crafted with deep, concentrated pigment, certain areas are intentionally scorched to create a striking contrast and add depth to the design. The edges are accented with brown pigment, while an ivory glaze provides a warm, elegant finish. The textured, scorched areasfurther enhance the handcrafted feel and sense of weight.

Each hand-painted piece features bold patterns that capture the natural movement of the brush, making every dish unique:

Marumon (Circle Pattern): A bold, substantial design with large areas of deep pigment.

Checkered & Arabesque Patterns: A balanced look where the ivory base and pigment blend harmoniously.

Tree Leaves Pattern: The most delicate of the designs, featuring the lightest pigment application for a fresh, understated feel.

Due to the handcrafted nature of this collection, variations in pattern and color intensity naturally occur—making each piece truly one of a kind. This artisanal quality brings depth and character that cannot be replicated by mass production.

Important Notes:

1. Small paint splatters (Gosu tobi) may be visible near the patterns.

2. The burnt effect of the pigment varies between pieces (the slightly rough-looking areas in the photos are the burnt sections).

3. There are variations in the intensity of the pattern’s color.

4. The rust-colored edges (brown portions) may differ in appearance.

5. Some glaze pooling may be present.

6. Unevenness in pigment application may occur.

7. Certain areas may show pigment pooling.

8. Due to hand-painting, differences in line thickness, slight distortions, shifts, and variations in pattern size may be observed.

9. Since the lid is placed on the teapot during firing, marks from the lid’s pigment may be visible.

10. Iron specks may appear in the glaze.

General Considerations for Ceramics:

Tiny black spots, pigment splatters, or minor pinholes that do not reach the base layer may be present.

Some slight wobbling may occur when placed on a table, but this does not affect usability.

Due to the nature of glaze application, the edges may appear slightly thinner as the glaze naturally flows downward.
