Asao Tokolo

Artist Born in Tokyo in 1969. Studied at the AA School of Architecture in London following graduation from Tokyo Zokei University in 1992. His decorative patterns based on the concept of ‘connection’ stem from September 11, 2001, and he continues to work in fields straddling art, architecture, and design. He designs and creates simple geometric crests and patterns that can be drawn with a ruler and compass, and three dimensional forms using the same principles. He is a visiting professor at Tokyo Zokei University and lecturer at the University of Tokyo Faculty of Engineering. Major works include lower facade glass pattern for Dai Nagoya Building, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games emblems, outdoor artworks for Otemachi Park Building

Pride House Tokyo is a project that transcends sector boundaries to link various groups, individuals and corporations in solidarity. Pride House Tokyo will take the opportunity of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics to establish a pop-up information center and spread information related to LGBT people and other sexual minorities, as well as provide various events and programs related to diversity.
On September 20th, a limited-time information dissemination facility “Pride House Tokyo 2019” was opened at subaCO in Harajuku, Tokyo.
